Created to celebrate 80 years of the Moomins, Moomin Play Baby is a wonderfully playful lambswool blanket with a special story behind it.
The design was introduced in 2025 to mark the 80th anniversary of Tove Jansson's Moomin stories, which began with The Moomins and the Great Flood in 1945. Familiar Moomin characters gather around the much-loved Moominhouse in a colourful design that celebrates friendship, home and belonging.
Woven from 100% lambswool, Moomin Play Baby is soft, warm and naturally insulating. At 65 × 90cm, it's a lovely size for the pram, cot or simply wrapping around a little one at home.

About the design
Moomin Play Baby was created for a very special anniversary.
The Moomin story began in 1945 with the publication of Tove Jansson's The Moomins and the Great Flood. At the end of their journey, Moominmamma and Moomintroll find Moominpappa and the tall blue house that will become the Moomin family's home.
That house became one of the most recognisable images in the Moomin world – a place associated throughout the stories with home, friendship, kindness and welcome.
Created in 2025 to commemorate the Moomins' 80th anniversary, Moomin Play brings those ideas together in a colourful woven design filled with familiar characters and the unmistakable Moominhouse.
It's a lovely way to introduce a new generation to a world of stories that has been loved for more than eighty years.
