Tree Climbers is a much-loved children's blanket designed by Swedish design duo Bengt & Lotta, filled with playful characters from the forest.

Animals climb amongst the branches and trees in a wonderfully lively pattern, while the soft grey palette keeps the design beautifully balanced. There's plenty for little eyes to discover, but it still has the simple graphic character that makes Bengt & Lotta's designs so distinctive.

Woven from 50% recycled wool and 50% lambswool, Tree Climbers is warm, comfortable and naturally insulating. At 65 × 90cm, it's a lovely size for the pram, cot, car or simply wrapping around a little one at home.

About the design

Tree Climbers brings together a whole collection of Bengt & Lotta's playful woodland characters.

Animals appear amongst trees and branches across the blanket, creating a lively little forest scene rather than a simple repeating motif. 

Look closely and there's always another small detail or character to discover. Yet the restrained grey palette prevents the pattern from becoming too busy, allowing Bengt & Lotta's simple silhouettes and strong graphic shapes to do the work.

It's easy to see why Tree Climbers has proved so popular: playful enough to appeal to children, but with the distinctive Scandinavian design that parents can enjoy too.

Why choose recycled wool & lambswool?

Tree Climbers combines 50% recycled wool with 50% lambswool, bringing together the natural warmth and breathability of wool with a thoughtful approach to using material that would otherwise go to waste.

Klippan's recycled wool comes from wool left over from its own production. These fibres are collected and given new life in new blankets and throws, making better use of a valuable natural material.

Because the available recycled fibres can vary from one production run to another, Klippan advises that there may be subtle differences in colour and appearance between batches. Rather than being a fault, these variations are a natural consequence of working with recycled material and give each production its own character.

Wool itself is naturally breathable and insulating, helping to provide warmth without overheating – one of the reasons wool blankets work so well both in the pram and around the home.
