Dalarna is a beautifully patterned baby blanket designed by Swedish textile designer Kerstin Landström, celebrating the rich folk-art traditions of Dalarna in central Sweden.
Dala horses sit amongst colourful decorative borders inspired by kurbits painting and the woven bands found on traditional folk costumes from the region, creating a design full of Swedish character and heritage.
Woven from 100% OEKO-TEX® certified lambswool, Dalarna is soft, warm and naturally insulating. At 65 × 90cm, it's a lovely size for the pram, cot or simply wrapping around a little one at home.

About the design
Dalarna brings together some of the most recognisable elements of Swedish folk art and textile tradition.
The wooden Dala horse has been made in Dalarna for centuries and has become one of the best-known symbols of Sweden and Swedish folk culture. The region is also known for kurbits, a distinctive style of decorative painting that developed in Dalarna towards the end of the 18th century and was traditionally used to decorate furniture and interiors.
Kerstin Landström brings these influences together with another detail from the region's heritage: the beautifully patterned woven bands found on traditional Dalarna folk costumes. Dala horses, stylised flowers and decorative borders combine to create a richly detailed design that feels unmistakably Swedish.
It's a wonderful example of Kerstin's approach to design: taking motifs from Sweden's cultural and textile heritage and reinterpreting them for contemporary homes and a new generation.

Wool is dirt-repellent and has a self-cleaning property, which means that you should not wash the baby blanket too often or unnecessarily. It does well if it is aired regularly, preferably in damp weather. The baby blanket can be washed with wool detergent by hand or on a wool program at 30 degrees.
