Bunad is a beautifully detailed new baby blanket designed by Swedish textile designer Kerstin Landström, inspired by the rich tradition of Norwegian folk costume.
Its colourful woven pattern takes its cues from the fabrics, decorative ribbons and embroidery found in Norway's much-loved traditional costumes, known as bunader.
Woven from 100% OEKO-TEX® certified lambswool, Bunad is soft, warm and naturally insulating. At 65 × 90cm, it's a lovely size for the pram, cot or simply wrapping around a little one at home.

About the design
Bunad takes its name and inspiration from Norway's treasured traditional folk costumes.
Known as bunader, these distinctive costumes are made with great care and craftsmanship, often combining rich wool fabrics with woven ribbons, decorative waistbands and intricate embroidery. They are closely associated with Norwegian heritage, celebration and a sense of belonging.
Kerstin Landström has drawn on these traditional textile details to create a richly patterned contemporary blanket. Bands of colour and decorative motifs echo the woven trims and embroidery of the original costumes, giving Bunad the feeling of a textile with history behind it rather than a conventional children's pattern.
It's a wonderful example of Kerstin's approach to design: looking to Nordic cultural heritage for inspiration, then reinterpreting it for contemporary homes and a new generation.

Care guide
Wool is dirt-repellent and has a self-cleaning property, which means that you should not wash the baby blanket too often or unnecessarily. It does well if it is aired regularly, preferably in damp weather. The baby blanket can be washed with wool detergent by hand or on a wool program at 30 degrees.
