Arvet – meaning Heritage – is a beautifully detailed baby blanket designed by Swedish textile designer Kerstin Landström.
Its distinctive pattern takes inspiration from the richly decorated farmhouses of Hälsingland in Sweden, drawing on a traditional stencil-painted wallpaper found in several of these historic interiors.
Woven from 100% OEKO-TEX® certified lambswool, Arvet is soft, warm and naturally insulating. At 65 × 90cm, it's a lovely size for the pram, cot or simply wrapping around a little one at home.

About the design
The story behind Arvet – Heritage – reaches back into Sweden's decorative past.
Seven of the historic farmhouses of Hälsingland have been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2012, recognised in particular for their remarkably decorated interiors. Arvet takes its inspiration from a stencil-painted wallpaper found in several of these farmhouses, including Gästgivars in Vallsta.
Many of the Hälsingland farmhouses were decorated by painters from Rättvik in Dalarna, which is why variations of the same pattern can also be found in farmhouses there. Kerstin has reinterpreted this piece of Swedish decorative heritage as a wonderfully intricate woven design in ochre, rust-red and green. I
It's a lovely example of Kerstin Landström's approach to design: taking patterns and details from Sweden's cultural heritage and giving them new life in contemporary textiles. Her wider collection draws inspiration from old wallpapers, stencil painting, traditional costume and historic interiors.

Care guide
Wool is dirt-repellent and has a self-cleaning property, which means that you should not wash the baby blanket too often or unnecessarily. It does well if it is aired regularly, preferably in damp weather. The baby blanket can be washed with wool detergent by hand or on a wool program at 30 degrees.
